Barbara Lynn Cantone

Barbara Lynn Cantone is the President of Body & Soul Restorations Inc. She began the company after fifteen years in the publishing and not-for-profit worlds, where she experienced exactly what lengthy hours at work, persistent stress and the relentless strains of urban living can do to unbalance both the body and the mind.

Barbara Lynn has created a private space in Long Island City where fatigued New Yorkers can recover personal strength and vitality through preventative and restorative touch therapies—Beauty Through Balance.

As a NYS licensed aesthetician, Barbara Lynn believes that when the body and mind are in balance, beauty is the natural result. The menu of services at Body & Soul Restorations reflects this by focusing primarily on revitalizing the skin, balancing the body and promoting an overall sense of well-being. All skin therapy, massage therapy and wax treatments are customized to address individual needs and designed to combat the detrimental effects of stress and the environment. The staff of Body & Soul Restorations is dedicated to educating their clients about how to best care for themselves inside and outside of the treatment room.

Barbara Lynn’s own education includes graduating from the Aveda Institute and participating in post-graduate studies at the International Dermal Institute. She also holds a BA in Art History from Long Island University, and a Certificate in Leadership Training from the Urban Academy of Mission to the Americas.

Prior to pursuing a calling in holistic spa therapy, Barbara Lynn had a fruitful career in both the corporate and non-profit sectors: After college, she worked for the Hearst Corporation, serving as the Advertising Production Director of several monthly publications including Victoria, Country Living and Sports Afield. She then took her marketing and management skills into the non-profit world, serving as the Development Manager for the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the not-for-profit organization with a $3 million operating budget that administers The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

For Barbara Lynn, the search for Beauty Through Balance extends to life outside of the treatment room: She and her husband are part of an active church community in a diverse New York City neighborhood and are participants in their local Community Supported Agriculture program. They are actively involved in the urban education of and driving lessons for their four nieces on Long Island, two nephews in upstate New York, and one Goddaughter in Delaware.
